Gender diversity in the radiologic workplace, including in academic and leadership positions, is important for the present and future success of the field. It is a tool for excellence that helps to optimize patient care and research; moreover, it is essential to overcome the current shortage of radiologists.
DAvid Rall Medal
Dr. Hricak was recently honored by the National Academy of Medicine for her distinguished leadership. As they wrote: “Through her exemplary service over about 15 years, Hricak has treasured the NAM as a valuable stimulus for improving science in medicine, the quality of health care, and the state of public health in the U.S. and around the world.”
Breast Cancer Research Foundation Jill Rose Award
At this year’s annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon on October 25, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation honored Dr. Hedvig Hricak with the Jill Rose award for scientific excellence with her work in merging imaging technology with molecular medicine.
Lillian Leong Oration
Dr. Hricak was honored by the Hong Kong College of Radiologists in November, and was invited to deliver the Second Lillian Leong Oration: Oncologic Imaging – Paving the Road to Precision.
